Volunteer Services

Taiwan Literature Base in Taipei City is organized and managed by the Tainan City-based National Museum of Taiwan Literature (NMTL). It is the mission of TLB to provide the public access to literature and to foster cross-domain writing. The TLB campus embraces seven dormitory houses dating from the Japanese Colonial Period (1898-1945). We look forward to working with all who love literature, reading, and historical buildings to join us in opening a new, literary-rich chapter for Taiwanese culture.

Volunteers and docents

  • General assistance to the public throughout the TLB campus.
  • Oversee safe and smooth TLB operations and provide guidance to visitors.
  • Docents (tour-guide volunteers) must receive requisite courses and training and be willing to work on holidays and during scheduled times.

Story-teller volunteers

  • Gather lovers of reading and literature to promote picture book literature.
  • Host the 'Good Time for Picture Books' workshop each Wednesday and 'Telling Stories for Children' workshop every other Saturday.
  • Helps ensure that the story house is a safe, enjoyable, and welcoming place for reading.
