Resident planning

"A hundred years ago Freud used this same image of solving a puzzle to describe the uncovering of early sexual trauma. The reward for patience is the occasional breakthrough moment when a number of pieces suddenly fall into place and a new part of the picture becomes clear." - Judith Herman, "Trauma and Recovery" "Puzzle" is a novel composed of seven chapters, narrated in a nonlinear, back-and-forth style, detailing the protagonist's experiences from childhood to her thirties. 1. It discusses the stereotyping and sexual harassment women face in modern society, contrasting it with the relatively taboo and conservative attitudes towards sexual assault in traditional society; 2. It narrates the obstacles women encounter in their pursuit of justice and how they grow from these experiences; 3. It examines various aspects and complexities of the familial dilemmas faced by victims of sexual assault. The plan is to complete one of the seven chapters during the residency at the Taiwan Literature Base.
