Resident planning
“A future for the past” (working title) is a movie script about a story of self-motivated oblivion of love. A youthful mind sparkling like magic pops living in an old man’s body; a fantasy tightly connected to Japanese bungalow. It is a true happiness for a movie to write scripts inside the movie set. During this residence, I look forward to the inner peace amidst current pandemic and the study and reconstruction of characters and narrative structure. Aside from being enamored with the history of well-known Peking opera actress from the joy of reading hall in the Taiwan Literature Base, conversation with neuroscience specialist, chitchatting the differences of novel and movie script with other writers, and interaction with readers on the weekends are also among the things I look forward to. In the still of the night, a thinking process of soundtrack for the script is expected. What atmosphere would it be when the Japanese dormitory combined with Japanese and western styles converse with Maurice Duruflé’s requiem? What about Summer night chirping sound in the year and Toru Takemitsu’s requiem? These are what I want to experiment in this residency.
