Introduction

Born in the summer of 1999 in Taipei, Xu Tong is a current student in the Department of Foreign Languages and Literatures at National Taiwan University. She published a collection of essays under the title "Skirt length is not knee-length" (publisher: Joint Literature) in 2017. Her concern about youth issues inspired her to write, and, at 18, she co-founded the “Yeah! Brand New" essay collection. The essay collection "Hedgehog Visits", published in 2019, records the confusion, realization, and individual experiences that come from living in fast-paced cities and the changing scenery that young people encounter as they grow into adulthood. In addition to writing in Chinese, she occasionally translates stories to and from different languages and does book illustrations.
