The various memories of humans living in this land write the history of a city together.

The birth of Taiwan Literature Base itself records the process that saved an old Japanese-style dormitory complex from being leveled and wiped out from the face of the earth during urban development. The complex was preserved, restored, and reconstructed in a span of more than two decades. In the process of urban modernization, these venerable buildings that have been so fortunately preserved have now become the basis for people to trace origins and form affinity.

Thanks to community consensus, expert collaborations, and the active promotion of governmental cultural departments, these memories that were once on the verge of disappearing have been spared and once again cherished by people.

Unwilling to see these stories disappear again, Taiwan Literary Base will activate the opportunity for the creation of literature through the reproduction of literary scenes, the restoration of cultural environments, and the search for historical clues.
