 胡添進(O Thiam Chin)

 

  • 胡添進(O Thiam Chin)是來自新加坡的作家,撰寫長短篇小說。他的作品發表於《Granta 文學雜誌》、《辛辛那提評論》、《華盛頓廣場評論》、《Mānoa 文學期刊》、《布魯克林鐵路報》、《今日世界文學》、《國際文學季刊》、《亞洲文學評論》、《京都季刊》、《雅加達郵報》和《新加坡文學評論季刊》。他三次入圍法蘭克.歐康納國際短篇小說獎,是六本短篇小說集的作者,其中《愛,或像是愛》(暫譯)(Love, Or Something Like Love)入圍了 2014 年新加坡文學獎。他的首部長篇小說《現在已結束》(Now That It's Over)贏得了 2015 年首屆 Epigram 小說獎及 2017 年新加坡圖書獎的最佳小說獎。他曾於 2010 年獲得愛荷華國際寫作計劃的榮譽獎學金,並於 2012 年獲得國家藝術理事會的青年藝術家獎。
     
  • O Thiam Chin is a short story writer and novelist from Singapore. His work has been published in GrantaThe Cincinnati ReviewWashington Square Review, MānoaThe Brooklyn RailWorld Literature TodayThe International Literary QuarterlyAsia Literary ReviewKyoto JournalThe Jakarta Post and Quarterly Literary Review Singapore. Thrice longlisted for the Frank O' Connor International Short Story Award, he is the author of six story collections, including Love, Or Something Like Love, which was shortlisted for the 2014 Singapore Literature Prize. His debut novel, Now That It's Over, won the inaugural Epigram Books Fiction Prize in 2015 and the Best Fiction title at the 2017 Singapore Book Awards. He was an honorary fellow of the Iowa International Writing Program in 2010, and a recipient of the National Arts Council's Young Artist Award in 2012.

  在這場講座中,我們將談論如何透過旅行與探索,讓人們在繁忙的生活之餘,重新與自我產生連結。也將思考在陌生的異國環境中迷失時將面臨的處境,而這些經歷又會如何幫助我們重新確立生活的方向。

  1. Highlight key points of writing about fiction of people who seek travel and exploration as ways of getting in touch with themselves amidst their busy fraught lives at home.
  2. Bring up the draws and drawbacks of finding oneself lost in strange, foreign environments, and how these can help to reorient and reestablish one's bearing and direction in life.

旅人的故事:臺灣之行的靈感與啟發
A Traveler's Tale: Ideas and Inspiration During Sojourns in Taiwan

  在這場講座中,作家將與我們分享這些年來帶給他創作靈感的臺灣地景。也將分享他作為一位新加坡華人,來到臺灣見聞理解在地文化、傳統風俗與生活習慣的親身經歷。

  1. Showcase the unique sights and locales in Taiwan that have inspired my writing over the years.
  2. Share my own experiences as a Singaporean Chinese navigating the particular Taiwanese culture and traditions as well as its social mores and ways of expression

 


 

 注意   以上系列活動將以英語進行(提供華語逐步口譯)。
